Over the many years of living with ghosts and investigating them, one learns what to believe and what not to believe.
First of all, when people tell you about the ghosts in their home, give them the benefit of a doubt. Do this, no matter how far out their story may seem to you.
Always be careful of what you say and how you act. (I know, sometimes you run across something that makes you react strongly.) But do try your best. Setting people off more than they already are is not going to help at all.
